National Council for the Social Studies NCSS honors annually the outstanding performance of teachers, researchers, and other worthy individuals and programs, and has encouraged unique and innovative social studies education projects through its award and grant programs. International Understanding Grants sponsored by the International Assembly and the Fund for the Advancement of Social Studies Education (FASSE). $5,000 grants available to support projects that demonstrate potential to enhance international relationships and global perspectives in social studies education. History Channel's "Save Our History" Grant Program provides funding to history organizations that partner with schools on a local community preservation project. During the 2009-10 school year, History will grant up to $10,000 to historical organizations that teach students about their local history and actively engage them in its preservation. Oregon Council for the Social Studies Outstanding Educator of the Year Award
OCSS is now accepting applications for its Educator of the Year Award. Educator must be nominated by a current OCSS member in good standing. Nominee does not have to be a current member. Application deadline is August 15, 2010. Please click here for the nomination form.
