Fund for the Advancement of Social Studies Education
FASSE was created in 1984 by National Council for Social Studies to support research and classroom application projects which improve social studies education and promote engaged, effective citizens. Teaching a People's History From the Zinn Education Project which promotes and supports the use of Howard Zinn’s best-selling book A People's History of the United States and other materials for teaching a people’s history in middle and high school classrooms across the country. National Peace Essay Contest The United States Institute of Peace is holding our annual NATIONAL PEACE ESSAY CONTEST. This scholarship contest is for high school students who are interested in international issues, conflict resolution, peace studies, justice, and human rights.
