OCSS is proud to present its Fourth Annual Spring Workshop entitled “Where's Oregon ? Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow!” at the Riverhouse Hotel in Bend , Oregon

All participants will receive PDU hours. One of hour of graduate credit available from Portland State University ( Participants will be required to attend both days of the conference, the special session at 10:30 am Sunday, and submit a unit plan with lessons that incorporate curriculum presented at the conference.)

9:00-10:30 – Choice of TWO workshops
•  Oregon 150: Telling Oregon 's Story
This workshop for teachers in grades K-12 will explain how to use the Oregon 150 template “Telling Oregon's Story” as a model for a Social Science Analysis Work Sample . Facilitated by Alili Schreiner, Oregon 150 program manager for Oregon Stories

•  Using Oregon Historic Cemeteries to Teach History and Geography
Oregon cemeteries provide a treasure trove of community-based learning for Oregon students. For teachers in grades 4-8, come join Oregon 150 partner, the Oregon Historic Cemeteries Association, to learn how to use this valuable resource. Facilitated by Kuri Gill , Oregon Historic Cemeteries Association

10:30 – Closing, Evaluation, Awarding of PDU credit for Sunday session

10:35-11:00 – Meeting for follow-up assignment for optional PSU credit. Course title: “Inspiring, Interactive K-12 Social Studies.”

This session is open to all but mandatory for those seeking credit.
